Basket Willebroek beat Avanti Brugge 2015 78–72 behind Terry Deroover's 15
Basket Willebroek held off a fourth-quarter surge from Avanti Brugge 2015 to secure a 78–72 road win, improving to 5–2 in the Top Division. The visitors dominated the first half, outscoring their hosts 13 points in the second quarter alone to take a 44–29 lead into halftime, then extended their advantage to 19 by the end of the third. Early in the fourth, Willebroek pushed their lead to 27 points at 69–42 with 8:19 remaining — a margin that appeared decisive. Avanti Brugge 2015 had other ideas. A 12–0 run midway through the quarter cut the deficit to five at 70–75, and the home side stayed within a possession until the final buzzer. Too little firepower too late: Willebroek's balanced attack — Terry Deroover 15 PTS on 5/12 shooting, Yarne Baetens 14 PTS on a sharp 6/9, and Seppe D'espallier's 13 PTS with 4 AST — weathered the late pressure. Arno Vandewalle led Avanti Brugge 2015 with 15 PTS on 6/11 from the field, while Sam Lambrecht added 14 PTS and 6 REB. Gil Dieltiens chipped in 13 PTS and 7 REB, but the trio's second-half offensive output was not enough to overcome Willebroek's first-half dominance. Avanti Brugge 2015 drop to 2–5. Next Saturday, Avanti Brugge 2015 host BBC Croonen Lommel, seeking to arrest their losing run at home.
