Belgium Women NT beat Türkiye Women NT 89–75 behind Emma Meesseman's 27
Our Cats took command in the third quarter and held firm down the stretch to earn a 14-point win over Türkiye in Group C play. Belgium led 26–24 after the opening quarter, then fell behind at halftime, 44–45, after a quiet second period. The turning point came early in the third: an 11-0 run flipped the script from 44–45 to 55–45, and our Cats never looked back. By the end of that quarter, the lead had stretched to 17, sitting at 71–54. Türkiye mounted a late challenge in the fourth—matching Belgium point-for-point through much of it—but the damage was already done. Belgium's largest margin came with 7:17 remaining, when a 20-point lead (78–58) put the result beyond doubt. The finish stayed comfortable despite Türkiye's late effort. Emma Meesseman led the way with 27 points on efficient 12-for-21 shooting, adding 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Julie Vanloo contributed 22 points on a hot night from three (6-for-11), while Kyara Linskens chipped in 11 points and 8 boards. For Türkiye, Kennedy Burke scored 17 and Sevgi Uzun orchestrated the offense with 11 points and 11 assists. Our Cats face Puerto Rico on Sunday—a chance to build on a controlled, decisive performance.
