In a match decided by a single possession, Vermoesen's work on the glass and his efficient perimeter stroke—he connected on both his three-point attempts in the first half—gave Gent the offensive stability it needed to hold off a persistent Lier side. His 14 boards meant he controlled much of the rebounding battle down the stretch, the kind of edge that matters most when possessions are precious.
