Hugo Giaux steered Val-Dieu Spirou Basket B past Oxaco BBC with a well-rounded 11 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks across 29 minutes, anchoring the home side's 70–61 victory in Group B play. The forward found his rhythm inside the paint, converting 4 of 8 field-goal attempts and 3 of 4 free throws, though he misfired on all four three-point tries. His rebounding work — nine boards in under half an hour — stabilized Val-Dieu Spirou on the glass when it mattered most. Five turnovers and limited playmaking (2 assists) kept the performance from being flawless, but Giaux's presence in the paint proved decisive. Val-Dieu Spirou's nine-point margin came in a contest that never fully ran away from Oxaco, suggesting the home team needed steady interior production to close it out.
