Basket Tongeren beat Amon Jeugd Gentson 85–78 behind Giuliano Neri's 19
Basket Tongeren weathered a furious fourth-quarter rally to hold on by 7, snapping a two-game losing run with a hard-fought 85–78 win over Amon Jeugd Gentson. The visitors built the game's decisive cushion in a devastating third quarter, ripping off a 15-0 run midway through the period to reach a 19-point lead by quarter's end (47–66). Tongeren held a 22-point margin early in the fourth before Gentson mounted a serious comeback, outscoring them 31–19 in the final frame to make it close—but Tongeren's lead proved enough to hold. The first half stayed competitive, with Basket Tongeren taking a four-point advantage to the break (32–36) after winning both the opening quarter by 1 and the second by 3. Amon Jeugd Gentson's third-quarter collapse—losing 15–30 in the period—was the decisive swing. Giuliano Neri led Basket Tongeren with 19 PTS on efficient 7/13 shooting (5/10 from three), while Jente Neven added 16 PTS and 9 REB on 8/12 from the field. Romain Fassotte chipped in 15 PTS on 6/8 shooting. For Gentson, Amaury Tandt's 19 PTS (6/14, 5/13 from three) and Dree Bossuyt's 13 PTS could not overcome the third-quarter damage. Basket Tongeren (2–3, Group A) travel to Hasselt BT on Saturday. Gentson, now 1–5, visit CEP Fleurus on Friday.
