Aleksandre Merkviladze carried Donar Groningen to a 96–83 road win over ZZ Leiden with a sharp 27-point performance, landing 9 of 16 shots from the floor and 4 of 8 from three. The Georgian forward also pulled down 7 rebounds across 33 minutes, moving the ball cleanly with 2 assists and a lone turnover — the kind of efficient offensive night that breaks open a 13-point margin. Merkviladze's 56% shooting from distance and 5 of 9 free-throw work spoke to a player who stayed composed when it mattered. Leiden hung close early but could not match Groningen's execution down the stretch; by the final buzzer, the gap had widened into something decisive. Donar returns to action next with another road test ahead.
