St-Niklase Condors hold off Basket Tongeren 63–62 in a nail-biter behind Senne Geukens's 25
St-Niklase Condors held on by a point in a frantic finish, escaping with a 63–62 win over Basket Tongeren in Group A play. The Condors jumped to a 20-point lead late in the first quarter, taking a 29–14 advantage into the second. Tongeren answered with a 19–9 second quarter to cut it to 33–38 at half-time, but the deficit lingered. A 12-0 run midway through the third quarter swung the momentum sharply — Tongeren clawed back from 38–49 to 47–49 — and the two sides remained locked inside the final two minutes. The fourth quarter saw both teams trade buckets (15–14 for Tongeren, 14 for St-Niklase), but the Condors held their nerve to claim the one-possession win. Senne Geukens led the Condors with 25 points on 9/14 shooting, adding 4/7 from three. Ferre Vercammen finished 4/5 overall for 11 points, while Jean Barekiragaba went a perfect 3/3 from beyond the arc for 9 points. For Tongeren, Sam Proesmans and Gaetan Hertay each scored 16 — Hertay pulling 9 rebounds — and Giuliano Neri added 15 on efficient 4/7 shooting with 3/5 threes. Basket Tongeren travel to Union BC Quaregnon on Sunday 20 September.
