Austria U18 Women beat Great Britain U18 Women 61–49 behind Lara Mayr's 20
Austria's second-quarter blitz proved decisive. Great Britain held the first quarter level at 11–12, but Austria ripped through Q2 with a 20–11 run, opening up a 31–23 lead at the break. Our GB side clawed back in the third—both quarters even at 16–16—yet never closed the gap enough. Austria controlled the fourth, holding us to 10 points while adding 14 to secure a 12-point win. Lara Mayr led Austria with 20 points on 9/21 shooting, adding 4 steals and 5 rebounds in a workmanlike performance. Emma Kress chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. For Great Britain, Isey Guttormsdottir-Frost compiled a double-double—15 points and 10 rebounds on 5/11 from the field—and her sister Bo added 11 points with solid defence. Tiarna Chambers-Desmond was efficient off the bench, 10 points on 5/9 twos. The gap widened in that decisive second quarter; our GB had to live with that. Austria's depth and ball movement outpaced us when it mattered most. A hard-fought loss, but one with learnings to take forward.
