Sarah Svitekova was the lone bright spot in Slovakia's defensive battle against our GB side, finishing with 5 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals and 1 block as her team fell 56–59 in a tightly contested FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket (Division B) clash. The Slovakian forward owned the glass despite the low-scoring affair, her work on the boards and ball-security efforts keeping her side competitive throughout. Four steals underlined her intensity on the perimeter — the sort of all-round effort that kept the margin razor-thin into the final moments. Our GB side held firm to claim the two-point victory, but Svitekova's rebounding and defensive pressure will have given Slovakia genuine encouragement. In Division B competition, that kind of presence in the trenches can swing momentum, and her display suggests the Slovaks have the fundamentals to trouble opponents on a given night.
