Great Britain U16 rout Austria U16 by 23 behind Nathan Muleba's 19
Great Britain's U16 side put on a clinical display against Austria, coasting to a 23-point victory at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division B. The scoreline masks little — this was a rout, not a contest. Austria made a fight of it early. They led 17–16 after the first quarter and stayed within touching distance at 37–40 by half-time, with seven lead changes keeping the match live. But the third quarter proved decisive. Great Britain ripped off a 14–0 run to turn a three-point deficit into an 11-point lead, and Austria simply could not recover. The hosts were outscored 40–20 across the final two quarters, managing only 10 points in each. Nathan Muleba led the way with 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Nino Satha chipped in 18 points with some sharp defence — three steals in his line. Elijah Imevbore muscled through for a double-double: 17 points and 12 boards, despite shooting 7-of-19 from the floor. It was a team effort; Great Britain's depth and defensive intensity simply wore Austria down. Gabriel Kunert worked hard for Austria with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, but it was nowhere near enough to stem the tide. Our GB side look to press on when they host Hungary on Saturday.
