RBC Pepinster East Belgium beat BC Guco Lier 78–67 behind Jordan Maucourant's 18
RBC Pepinster East Belgium survived a second-half surge from BC Guco Lier B to claim an 11-point win, 78–67, in Group B play. The margin looked comfortable late, but Lier made it closer than the scoreline suggests in the fourth quarter. The first half saw the teams trade leads and ties four times over. Pepinster led 19–17 after one, then fell behind 41–43 at halftime as Lier's shooting kept them level. The third quarter belonged entirely to Pepinster. A devastating 11–0 run midway through the period—the score running from 39–43 to 50–43—flipped the momentum. Pepinster's defense tightened while their offense found rhythm, and they entered the fourth quarter with a commanding 67–54 advantage. Lier refused to fold. They outscored Pepinster 13–11 in the final frame and cut into the lead, but Pepinster's earlier work proved decisive. Pepinster's peak came early in the fourth, when they led by 16 at 70–54 with 9:44 left—enough cushion to weather the late push. Jordan Maucourant led Pepinster with 18 points on 6/13 shooting and 4-for-4 from the line. Martin Francoeur added 17 points on 6/12 with three threes, and Tom Malempré chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Jaden Ochiagha was a bright spot for Lier, finishing with 23 points on 8/20 shooting; Theo Ivens and Siebe Busschots added 12 and 10 respectively. Pepinster host BC Asse-Ternat on Saturday 19 September, while Lier visit Basket Sijsele the same day.
