Matteo Verstraete has been the standout of recent weeks in the Top Division, and tonight he walks into Stedelijke Sporthal Vilvoorde with a 42.3 TIB EFF rating that sits well clear of the field. The Basket SKT Ieper guard is averaging 13.7 points and 2.2 assists in current form — numbers that carry real weight in a Belgian domestic season. Lenny Coppens, for his part, has held Bavi Vilvoorde's offence steady with 10.2 PPG and a 32 TIB EFF. He is not in Verstraete's current trajectory, but he remains the engine Vilvoorde leans on when it Matteo. The gap between them — half a point per game, a gulf in efficiency — will likely define how this one flows. Verstraete's touch and tempo against Coppens steadiness and court sense. Ieper arrive as the form side; Vilvoorde will need to match that intensity from the opening whistle. Tip-off in a Matteo of hours. This is Belgian basketball at its best.
